System Reliability & Outage Response

NewWave Communications has developed many systems in an effort to provide top quality service and to prevent outages from inconveniencing our customers. When outages do occur, we do everything we can to minimize their impact. Some examples include:

24/7 System Monitoring & Maintenance – Our technical staff constantly monitors our systems from our Network Operations Center (NOC). Our NOC staff is trained to look for any potential problems and address them before they affect customers. During an outage, our NOC staff works with our field and technical staff members to locate and fix the problem, resolving it as quickly as possible.

Backup Power Systems – NewWave maintains backup power systems at several key levels within our networks. At each Headend (where services originate for a city, town, or service area) both battery backup and independently fueled generators are used to maintain operation if the normal power supply is unavailable. For those who have our phone service, battery backup in our equipment placed in the customer’s home can allow phone service to continue for several hours during a power outage.

Logistics – NewWave maintains contracts and agreements with other companies in the telecommunications industry to provide emergency labor and supplies to supplement our own internal personal and supplies if we should have to deal with a large-scale emergency outage.

 

Scheduled Maintenance

In order to continue to provide quality service and launch new services, NewWave Communications must perform maintenance to the equipment and infrastructure of our cable system.
