NewWave Communication's Business Telephone Service provides the same level of service you receive from a standard telephone line, but by using VOIP or Voice Over Internet Protocol. The difference is that unlike most VOIP services, our service does not travel over the open internet. Instead we use our private network to connect to our telephony partners to provide you with service.
Depending on the size and setup, in order to connect your business to our phone network, a coaxial or fiber solution may be used. With a coax solution, a cable line would be ran from NewWave's distribution system to your business to a Cable EMTA (Embedded Multimedia Terminal Adaptor). This device handles transfering your voice data from your telephone system to our network.
In other cases, fiber may be used. In a fiber setup, fiberoptic cable is ran from NewWave's distribution system to your business to a device called an ADTRAN. This operates similar to the EMTA, handling the transfering of voice data from your telephone system to our network.
